SoftServe applied for the award in the nomination “The World” with a project of creation a highly academic environment within the company. Good news was that project won not only in the category “World”, but also in two additional nominations: “The choice of nominees” and “Best Presentation of the project”.
“I am extremely pleased that we received these awards, because they are the result of our joint work and efforts of many SoftServe employees”, tells SoftServe University Director Galyna Datsiv. “Today, IT companies in Ukraine have a greater demand for highly skilled workers than domestic market can offer. SoftServe learning ecosystem is an effective solution for this issue. Thanks to its successful functioning, SoftServe did not go on “HR diet”; instead, we are growing our forces, while increasing the team of professionals.”
SoftServe created its own educational ecosystem aimed at continuous professional development of employees and general support of the IT environment in Ukraine. In particular, the company is among the first in Ukraine to establish its own corporate university, which today is an effective development tool for both existing employees and candidates for employment in the company. SoftServe IT Academy, which is a part of the university, every year, prepares more than 700 graduates to their start of work in IT, 70% of which immediately after graduation become employees of the company. Every month SoftServe holds around 80 different training, with more than 800 employees participating in them. At the same time, the catalog of learning programs already includes over 200 different training. More than 1000 SoftServe employees learn English, German, French, Polish and Spanish at company’s language school. The company organizes up to 15 external conferences annually, with more than 2000 IT professionals from Ukraine and abroad attending them.
The result of effectively built HR-processes showed, based on the internal research, that 92% of employees fully meet the requirements of their position or exceed expectations, monthly 5.5% of employees are promoted to a new position. The quality of the internal staff management system is proved by the fact that 76% of all new jobs in the company, including managerial positions, are closed by promoting existing employees.
SoftServe employees also positively evaluate learning and growth opportunities within the company: in the annual employers ranking presented by the largest online IT-community in Ukraine Dou.ua, the company for the several years in the row holds primacy in the IT market by “professional growth” and “Management” criteria.
“Highly skilled workers – is an important component of success in any business. But in IT – it is a key criterion for success, because we work in the industry of intellectual economy and technology, where everything is changing extremely rapidly”, says Galyna Datsiv. “I’m also extremely impressed with HR-initiatives of other companies that were presented in this year’s competition. This is the evidence of qualitative changes taking place in the Ukrainian business environment. ”
This year, companies well known by their progressive HR-practices took part in the contest, including Aushan Retail Ukraine, JTI, Corum Group, 1 + 1 Media, Nova Poshta, Vega, Winner, Comfy and others.
